Unsearchable love

The love of God is a powerful force that has been described in many ways throughout centuries. His unwavering nature – a love that never fails and will never let us down. It's a love that reaches beyond our understanding and carries us through any circumstance we may face. The Bible says For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

God's love caused him to come in the flesh (Emmanuel) and become the last sacrifice. Upon believing in him we will have redemption.

How do we learn to love?

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deuteronomy 6:5 God expects us to love what he loves, and hate what he hates. Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Psalms 97:10 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Romans 12:9 Paul tells us that our love should be pure and void of hypocrisy. God sets the standard for what is right and holy.

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. Hebrew 12:6 Oftentimes it is easier to receive agape love over correction. Correction is love at its core. God wants to keep us safe, and he doesn't want sin to separate us from him. So he protects us from ourselves. Our hearts must remain open to God's love in warmness and correction. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Hebrews 12:11

What can we learn about love from the sacrifice of Christ?

God willingly gave up his life to die on the cross. God will never force his children to love him. He wants us to love him of our own free will. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Ephesians 5:2 Paul continues on in this chapter to tell us not to be partakers with the children of disobedience. Ephesians 5:3-20 True love is found in obedience to God. We must follow Christ's example and not give in to the desires of the flesh. When we fall short, we must look at sin differently and repent. Discipline and sacrifice go hand and hand when walking circumspectly.

By him let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Hebrews 13:15 God is so deserving of our praise, and we must praise him with pure love and admiration from our hearts. God's love is something that can never be taken away and will always be with us. His grace and mercy are a blessing, no matter how great or small the situation may seem. We should continually thank God for his unconditional love as we strive to live our lives in a way that pleases him.

In Conclusion, we are to Love God, Love ourselves, and Love our neighbor. Matthew 19:19 We should approach God with a humble heart and seek the Lord's guidance to remain obedient to Him. His perfect love is incomparable, and it is only through his grace that we may be saved. Let us always remember that nothing can separate us from the love of God as He stands by us in even our darkest hours. Romans 8:38,39

PRAYER REQUESTS

At our church, prayer is an important part of our spiritual practice. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and  supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God (Phillipians 4:17). We believe that prayer can bring us closer to God and help us find peace and comfort in difficult times. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him (James 5:14-15).
