What is Christian meditation?
In short, Christian meditation is a practice that allows you to become more aware of your inner self through prayer and reflection on God’s word.
As believers in Christ, we know that there is more to us than flesh and blood, the Apostle Paul states in the book of Romans that to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” -Romans 8:6 KJV
If we read Romans 8, we can learn that as Christians, we must strengthen ourselves spiritually by the word of God to live peacefully in this world of sin. Meditation is a tool we can use as Christians to aid in our spiritual journey with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that is healing, forgiving, and uplifting to our inner self.
How do you meditate as a Christian?
Meditating on God’s word takes an open mind and a willing spirit as it combines prayer, breathwork, and reflection on God’s word. The act of prayer can be further examined as a time for self-reflection and evaluation and humbly asking God to heal or mend any brokenness within. David repeatedly speaks on this in the book of Psalms where you will find the word meditation mentioned many times throughout. David gives us a glimpse into what it means to meditate on God's word by pondering on God's goodness and thinking thoroughly about his walk with Christ.

Why do we focus on Guided Christian meditation?
We focus on guided Christian meditation because we understand that the stillness and silence can become overwhelming if you are a beginner and new to Christian meditation. We know that life throws many curveballs at us. Sitting with your thoughts and ruminating can make you feel even worse than you did before. Luminous Guided Christian meditation offers 10-15 minute sessions that equip you with scripture to fight against the wiles of the devil. Our guided meditations are curated by Pastor Randall Crawford Sr., an ordained minister with over 25 years of dedication to the faith and ministry of Christ. These meditations combine calming breath-work and scripture focused on pain points like: anxiety, fear, financial uncertainty, insomnia, grief, and more.
No sensationalism
No chanting
No mind-altering substances
Just you and the stillness of God.

As for yourself, God and Christ instruct us to meditate or think on his Holy word daily. In Philippians 4:8 it says,
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
As Christians, we know that God and Christ are pure and Holy. So, setting aside time in your day to meditate is a great way to deepen your connection with Christ and gain a closer walk with Christ. In life, you will be faced with many challenges, and you will need to navigate some negative situations. Although negative things may be happening around you, the scriptures tell us not to focus or ruminate on them.
